Surface water pre-filtration for reverse osmosis for thermoelectric plant
Comparative estimates for a feed flow of 140 m³/hour and three tanks operating plus one in standby with surface water. With a feed NTU of 15 - 23 NTU.

"Guaymas - Empalme " Desalination plant
"La Paz" Purification plant
The treatment is designed to remove iron and manganese in addition to suspended solids and consists of the following stages.
Chemical oxidation
A dose of sodium hypochlorite is added in a reaction tank until a residual of 1 ppm is reached.
Primary filtration
Water is filtered by Zeomedia 12-20 to remove total suspended solids down to 5 microns.
Secondary Filtration
The influent is filtered by Zeomedia 14-40where the manganese and iron precipitate and adhere to the surface area of the zeolite, forming a film of manganese and iron oxide. The film allows the retention of dissolved iron and manganese particles.
Desalination by reverse osmosis
The water is then filtered through a reverse osmosis system to remove the remaining dissolved salts.
